Full Version: Hey! How'd We Do on Predictions Last Year?

I can't find those threads where a year ago we were predicting the presidential outcome. ...

I only vaguely remember about this time last year Hillary did something weird in a debate, and I thought that the extremely rare turn of press coverage against her probably wouldn't last (remember, she was definitely considered on her way to the Democratic nomination, Obama had been big in the very early months but had really cooled off throughout the summer and well into the fall last year).

And I do know I thought no senator, Democratic or Republican, could win -- it would take an outsider. But I think I did have a caveat that depending on how things shook out and who was still left standing during the general election, if it were a race among senators Obama could still take it. *I really thought, though, it would be a Fred T. or a Rudy (or, had Palin been on the scene at the time running for the top spot, her) as opposed to a sitting senator.

I agree it would be nice to see the thread....

I do remember that Hillary was considered the automatic candidate....and McCain was 'totally' out of the running....

I found 114 posts re: predictions just in "political discussion" extending from Dec 2004 until Nov 08 by multitude of posters. If you have some idea on who (poster, candidate, party) you're interested in, go into the search function and give it a try and let us know......
