going to town on Saturday and - seeing a news reel, a movie, a cartoon, a serial and selected shorts with soda and popcorn and an ice cream after - all for a quarter.

Well, when I was a kid there was an old theater in the Argentine district of Kansas City that still showed silent movies. They had a piano, too. Mom and Dad used to take us kids there from time to time, but we never sneaked in. That was back in '40 or '41.

Ah, the simpler things of life you kids never got to enjoy. No annoying cell phones ringing either!
